When Meg moves in with her longtime boyfriend, she is suddenly terrorized by memories of a past trauma from years earlier. Desperate to move forward with the life she wants, she constructs an imagined space in her mind to confront her ghosts and battle their grasp on her reality.
Director Statement
At least one in every five women will be the victim of rape or attempted rape during her lifetime. Once these women survive the immediate aftermath, they can go on to carry the emotional weight of what happened their entire lives. There is no single path forward from “victim†to “survivor,†and the journey itself is often full of setbacks, obstacles, and hardships. For many, the repercussions of sexual assault are like a chronic illness; on a good day, the symptoms abate, but they never completely disappear.
