When three people are introduced to The Better Earth Program, they learn that one of them must make the ultimate sacrifice.
Producer, writer, and director of the film, Michael Gavino says, “ever since I was young, I have always been fascinated by unintended consequences. Indeed, often people or institutions will attempt to do a social good, but there are dire social consequences. Perhaps this is the curse of humanity: even when we attempt to do good, we do evil. This was the genesis of For the Greater Good. As I wrote the script, I created a fictional government agency that was truly committed to the ultimate social good of saving the world. Yet, to truly accomplish their mission, they must use some questionable tactics. I hope this film makes people ponder the flawed nature of human beings. Can we truly address the problems plaguing the world without causing more, sometimes worse problems? What are the ramifications of this for our governments and societies? Will there be a generation that will be able to address the ills of the world without dire unintended consequences? Will this be our generation, or have we already unleashed unintended consequences that threaten the future of our planet?”
