Crown Of Flowers

While out for a walk in the local forest, a mother is haunted by her memories of anxiety when she and her son flee from an attacker, and become lost in the forest. Crown of Flowers explores ‘anxiety’ where everything is perfectly normal and when it is not. This was contrasted by the quietness of home and the outdoors, in the forest. Dream or reality… the past and the future often collide in the present. These are times of solitude and contemplation… and anxiety.

Director and Producer – Gary Centrone

Gary grew up in South Fremantle (Australia) from Italian migrants. At a young age, he was interested in art and storytelling, and was instilled with the value of working hard by his parents. He was inspired one day, when he saw a film crew in Gold Street – the very street he grew up on, for the production of Kicking Around, a locally made Drama TV series. Little did he know, he would cast Maurie Ogden (who played a supporting role at the time) 24 years later for the lead role in the short film, Swan Song (writer/producer Mark Hudson) – a film school project through the Film and Television Institute (FTI), in Fremantle Western Australia. In the early 2000s, he networked at FTI for cast and crew for early attempts at filmmaking, and experimented with super 16 film, compositing, and rotoscoping. This was followed up by a few un-produced feature film screenplays, and award winning short films. His passion for stories is inspired by the mystery of who we are, the journey we take… and ultimately, meaning – the greatest thing of all we desire.
