Western Jubilee

Western Jubilee is a documentary film about a private music venue and recording studio in Colorado Springs, CO devoted to traditional cowboy music. The film features avid collector Scott O’Malley, the owner of Western Jubilee, and Grammy-nominated cowboy singer Don Edwards. These two men share a friendship, an obsession, and a true love for all things cowboy. Donna W. Guthrie is a writer, filmmaker, and lecturer. She is the author of twenty-three books and eighty educational videos for children. When she is not hiking the National Parks, Donna lectures on the history of country music. Colin W. Guthrie is a sound and video editor, post-production engineer and filmmaker based in Berkeley, CA. Colin has worked for American Zoetrope since 2005 as an engineer, sound and film editor, location sound recordist and re-recording mixer. Colin enjoys rap music, HBO and hikes with his dog Bud.

Mother and son, Donna and Colin, co-directed Western Jubilee. This is their third documentary collaboration. Their other films include “Spark & Kiln” and ”The Wedding Gown Project: One Dream, One Dress”.
